Assignment #2

Your Kindergarten buddy would love to hear from you! Ms. Nicholson has some great postcards that she can send to your K buddy, but you need to add some writing on them. So this is what you will have to do:

1. Type out about half a page - use a font no bigger than 14

2. Make sure that you include your buddies name and your name

3. Include some interesting things for them to read like: a favourite memory of something you did together, something you really like to do to keep yourself busy, something you are looking forward to this summer, maybe some of your favourite things (colour, activity, TV show, song, game, etc.)

4. Have someone proofread your letter and then fix up anything that needs to be fixed

5. Email me the letter smadsen@sd57learn.com

I will proofread it as well and send it back to you with suggestions on improvements if needed.

6. Once the letter is all done, email it to me again and then I will send it to Ms. Nicholson. She will print out the letters and glue them to the back of the postcards and get them to your little buddy.

7. Remember our writing criteria - specific nouns, interesting adjectives, good verbs, some figurative language like a simile, metaphor, hyperbole, personification, capitals where needed (including your buddy's name) and punctuation (periods, commas, question marks, etc.)

8. Have this all done by Monday, April 20
